Shimano reel foot always has a round sticker on it, but do you know what this sticker means?
In fact, important information can be read from the three characters on the sticker, which indicates the date and country of manufacture of the reel.
1.First letter
The first letter indicates the year of manufacture, with the year 2002 as A, and the corresponding letter of the alphabet for each year from there.
2.Second letter
The second letter indicates the month of manufacture. The correspondence between the alphabet and the month is shown in the figure below.
3.Third letter
The last letter indicates the country of manufacture. This is only two letters, P and S. P means made in Malaysia and S means made in Japan.
For example, the 22 STELLA below shows from this seal that it was manufactured in 2023, a newer product in the same model.
Please make sure that the reels you obtain are properly manufactured in Japan, and take advantage of this by comparing them in stores and selecting newer products if you wish!!
