The "Freestyle" concept Scorpion series has finally been crowned with the highest peak of monster-spec models: "DC MD" (DC Brake x Monster Drive). It is scheduled to be released in June 2026.
So, what is different from the previous "21 Scorpion DC (150 size)" or the "21 Scorpion MD (SVS brake)"? To get straight to the point, it has evolved into a terrifying reel where "the inside is almost an Antares DC MD, while the outside is a Scorpion."
What Has Evolved! The Greatness of the New "26 Scorpion DC MD"
Compared to the older model (21 model), there are three clear upgrades.
1. Brake: Equipped with the Latest Generation "I-DC5"
The highlight this time is the evolution of the electronic control brake.
- Old Model (21 Scorpion DC): It was equipped with the I-DC5, but with a versatile setting.
- New Model (26 Scorpion DC MD): Equipped with the latest I-DC5 tuned specifically for "Anti-Monster & Long Casting."
By combining the internal dial (line type) and the external dial (5 levels), the sensation of "flying without thumbing" has been further enhanced, whether you are casting big baits with high air resistance or making long casts on windy days. The peace of mind against backlash is on a completely different level.

2. Spool: Large Diameter 38mm "Magnumlite Spool IV"
This is the biggest surprise. While the older DC model had a 34mm diameter spool, the new DC MD adopts an ultra-large diameter spool measuring "38mm diameter x 21mm width." Furthermore, it is the latest "MGL Spool IV."
- Old Model: Good initial start-up, but the extension in the latter half of the cast was average.
-
New Model: Overwhelming line release performance due to the large diameter. Wobbling during rotation is suppressed to the absolute limit, and its performance in "carrying heavy lures far away" is completely closing in on the flagship model (Antares).

3. Power: XG Features a Maximum Retrieve of 101cm
An "Extra High Gear (XG)" model, which is even faster than the HG (High Gear) of the old model, has been added to the lineup. Because it can retrieve 101cm of line with a single turn of the handle, it gives you an overwhelming advantage when hooking fish at a distance or taking the initiative to pull fish away from obstacles.
