36 mm MAG-Z Boost Spool
MAG-Z Boost combines centrifugal movement of the induct rotor with two-stage brake reduction. Braking is strongest during the high-risk opening phase of a cast, then decreases as spool speed falls. The 36 mm diameter supports line release and recovery for medium- and heavyweight presentations, while the 24 mm width is narrower than the 27 mm spool used in the 2018 Zillion TW HD 1520.

Daiwa widened and tapered the T-Wing System opening for this reel. The revised path is designed to reduce resistance from thick line and compact braid-to-leader connections as they pass through the levelwind. Daiwa still advises positioning the connection outside the rod guides during a cast to reduce impact risk.

Both reels use a 36 mm (1.42 in) spool, but the 2026 model narrows the spool from 27 mm (1.06 in) to 24 mm (0.94 in) and reduces reel weight by 15 g (0.5 oz).
