The 2026 Shimano Ocea Jigger CT adds a digital depth counter to a large, levelwind-free Ocea Jigger platform. The six-model range combines 2000 and 2500 spool capacities with right- or left-hand configurations, while retaining the metal-bodied, direct-drive layout associated with Shimano's dedicated offshore jigging reels.

Digital Counter for Repeatable Depth Control
The counter displays the amount of line released, allowing an angler to record a strike depth and return a jig to the same numerical range. This is particularly relevant when fish are suspended away from the bottom, where color-coded braid and manual counting can introduce cumulative error.

For bottom-oriented jigging, the difference between the boat's sonar depth and the reel's released-line reading can also indicate the effect of current and line angle. The display is therefore a repeatability tool rather than a direct measurement of the jig's vertical depth below the boat.

Models ending in an even number are right-hand versions; models ending in 1 are left-hand versions. The 2000 platform is narrower and lighter. The 2500 platform adds spool width and capacity, then divides into a 5.7:1 MG retrieve and a 6.2:1 HG retrieve.
Revised Drag and Power Hardware
The redesigned star drag has a 4 mm (0.16 in) larger outer diameter than the previous reference design and uses a thicker structure. Maximum drag is 12 kg (26.5 lb) for HG models and 13 kg (28.7 lb) for MG models.
The adjustable crank arm is 8 mm (0.31 in) longer than the previous reference and can be set to 88 or 100 mm (3.46 or 3.94 in). The handle knob is 6 mm (0.24 in) larger and adds a waterproof seal intended to reduce salt-related contamination around the knob assembly.
