2026 Daiwa Morethan TW 150 PE guide

The 2026 Daiwa Morethan TW 150 PE Special is a baitcasting reel developed specifically for braided-line seabass fishing. Its core components are a 36 mm × 24 mm (1.42 × 0.94 in) G1 duralumin MAG-Z Boost spool, a tapered T-Wing System, an 8.5:1 retrieve, and a 110 mm (4.33 in) aluminum handle.

A Braid-Only 36 mm MAG-Z Boost Spool

The spool is machined from G1 duralumin and is calibrated exclusively for braided line. Its line bed uses a revised profile with a more nearly vertical transition between the base and side wall, intended to improve how braid stacks across the spool.

Capacity is approximately 30 lb × 250 m, 40 lb × 200 m, or 55 lb × 130 m. Nylon and fluorocarbon must not be used because their greater stretch can place damaging stress on this braid-specific spool.

How MAG-Z Boost Controls a Cast

MAGFORCE-Z moves an induct rotor in response to spool speed. The Boost mechanism applies braking in two stages: after the high-risk backlash phase, braking steps down so the lure can maintain speed through the middle and final portions of the cast. Daiwa calibrates this system for medium- and heavyweight lures rather than the lightest presentations.

Tapered T-Wing System with DLC Treatment

The tapered T-Wing System widens the low-resistance line path during a cast. Its opening is enlarged and treated with diamond-like carbon, or DLC, to reduce contact resistance as braid leaves the spool.

Daiwa recommends keeping a braid-to-leader connection outside the rod guides to reduce the risk of the knot striking the guide train during a cast.
