The 2026 Shimano Miravel and Nasci occupy neighboring positions in Shimano's general-purpose spinning-reel range, but they are not simply the same reel at different weights. Both use a forged HAGANE Gear, X-SHIP, Silent Drive, Infinity Drive, a One-Piece Bail, an Anti-Twist Fin, and an AR-C Spool. Their main differences are the body and rotor materials, sealing system, lineup, and resulting balance on a rod.

Miravel Prioritizes Low Rotational Inertia
Miravel belongs to Shimano's MagnumLite family. Its CI4+ body and MagnumLite Rotor reduce mass and the force needed to start or stop the rotor. That design direction is most relevant when an angler repeatedly changes retrieve speed, works a light lure with the rod and handle, or wants a lighter reel on a finesse setup.
At the C3000 size, the listed Miravel weight is 200 g (7.1 oz). The comparable Nasci C3000 is listed at 235 g (8.3 oz). A 35 g (1.2 oz) difference can materially change the balance of a light rod, although total outfit balance still depends on the rod's length, power, and handle layout.
Nasci Uses a Conventional High-Strength Resin Platform
Nasci uses a high-strength resin body and rotor. Its design is aimed at broad versatility from freshwater fishing through light shore applications. The 2026 generation adds Infinity Drive, the One-Piece Bail, and the Anti-Twist Fin, narrowing the technology gap while retaining the more conventional material platform.
The Nasci range also extends to a compact 500 model, giving it a different lineup boundary from Miravel. Model selection should therefore begin with the required capacity, retrieve rate, and rod balance rather than with the series name alone.
Sealing and Line Management
Miravel uses X Protect, while Nasci uses CoreProtect. Both systems are intended to limit water entry, but they use different sealing structures and application points. Neither designation removes the need for normal care after use around salt water.
Both 2026 platforms use the One-Piece Bail and Anti-Twist Fin to guide slack line toward the roller and reduce loose coils below the spool. Their AR-C Spools shape line release at the spool lip. These shared systems mean the purchase decision is driven more by material, weight, model availability, and intended retrieve feel than by a single line-management feature.
