Description of "Shimano 2025 ANTARES 101MG GAUCHE"
Technology Features of Shimano 2025 ANTARES 101MG GAUCHE
HAGANE
“HAGANE” is more than just a material name; it’s a design philosophy centered around creating reels that offer unmatched longevity and smoothness. The term "HAGANE" itself, which means "steel" in Japanese, symbolizes strength and resilience. However, in Shimano's context, it transcends traditional interpretations, representing a suite of advanced technologies aimed at enhancing performance and durability. In other words, when they say "HAGANE", they do not actually mean that HAGANE(= steel) is used. “HAGANE” promises robustness that can be used with peace of mind even in the harshest of conditions, an unchanging, exquisite winding feel, and winding power that exceeds the imagination."HAGANE Gear" or "HAGANE Body" is Shimano's engineering concept and philosophy.
MICRO MODULE GEAR
The gear teeth surfaces in the MICRO MODULE GEAR are finer and mesh more closely together than traditional gears, resulting in minimal power loss and a smooth, powerful winding experience. Additionally, the increased number of meshing teeth provides greater strength compared to conventional gears. This unique Shimano gear system achieves a balance of smoothness and durability.
X-SHIP
X-SHIP features an enlarged drive gear, optimal positioning of the pinion and drive gears, and two-point support for the pinion gear with bearings. This robust gear engagement maintains smooth and efficient reeling even under heavy loads.
SILENT DRIVE
SILENT DRIVE involves a comprehensive redesign of the entire body and drive-related components, meticulously eliminating minute gaps, play, and vibration between parts. Areas of improvement include the drive gear, worm shaft, worm shaft pin, worm shaft gear, and slider gear, among others. This results in a new level of smooth rotational performance and a quiet, refined reeling experience.
MGL SPOOL Ⅳ
The Magnumlite Spool III is a spool that achieves lightweight and low inertia through significant thinning of its structure. It rotates smoothly immediately after release, providing an exhilarating casting feel, enhanced long-distance casting performance, and improved trouble-free operation.
The newly developed Magnumlite Spool IV builds upon the Magnumlite Spool III, which pursued ultra-low inertia through extreme thinning. By adopting a reverse-tapered spool shape, it achieves an ideal line-lay structure.
The balance of the spool after winding the line has a significant impact on casting performance. A well-balanced spool minimizes rotational wobble and reduces spool vibration during casting, allowing for exceptional casting distance and an incredibly smooth casting experience.
S3D SPOOL
The S3D SPOOL features an entirely redesigned cutting method, significantly enhancing the spool's precision. As a result, this design improves the smoothness and reduces vibrations during casting, leading to a quieter and more stable performance.
SUPER FREE SPOOL
SUPER FREE SPOOL is a system where the spool shaft is supported by only two bearings when the reel's clutch is disengaged. This design minimizes spool wobble and eliminates rotational resistance, allowing for exceptionally smooth and light spool free performance.
SILENT TUNE
In baitcasting reels, high spool rotation can cause vibrations and noise. SILENT TUNE reduces these by applying light pressure to the spool bearings with springs, improving the reel's quietness during casts and enhancing spool rotation startup.
SVS (Shimano Variable Brake System)
This centrifugal brake system represents a pinnacle of design, delivering rapid spool startup and a smooth, extended casting trajectory. The braking section of the 21 Scorpion MD features an 8-pin SVS setup, which, when combined with a low-inertia spool that has been thinned and narrowed, enables precise brake control while maintaining impressive casting distance. Even with large, air-resistant lures like giant baits, the line stays firmly in place on the spool during casts, effectively preventing backlash.
SA-RB
A-RB bearings feature a special anti-corrosion treatment that significantly improves their rust resistance. The SA-RB takes this further by sealing the sides with anti-corrosion materials, greatly reducing salt crystallization and salt damage inside the bearing.
